FIREFIGHTERS tackled an inferno after a car burst into flames in Southampton.
Residents were horrified after the Vauxhall caught fire at about 10pm last night and called firefighters to the scene on Defender Road, Southampton.
A witness told the Daily Echo that some residents rushed to move their own vehicles away and said: “Onlookers approached the opposite side of the road and watched as the fire brigade arrived and extinguished the flames.”
A fire engine from St Mary’s attended and put out the fire.
