LEE Barnard scored only his second goal in 25 matches last night.
The Saints striker netted from the penalty spot to help Southend beat Oxford United 3-0 at Roots Hall in a League 2 encounter.
It was Barnard's 10th league game back at the Shrimpers since he rejoined the club on loan from Saints in late January.
It was also his first competitive goal since scoring for Oldham, where he also enjoyed a loan spell last season, on March 29 2013.
Barnard ended last season with just one goal in his final 14 league and cup outings for the north west club in League 1.
