Boruc fit for Villa return

Daily Echo: Artur Boruc Artur Boruc

Saints will welcome back Artur Boruc as they face Aston Villa.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed the only absentees he expects from his squad for the game at Villa Park are Jay Rodriguez, Maya Yoshida, Kelvin Davis and Gaston Ramirez.

The Saints manager is hoping to see his side bounce back to winning ways after the disappointing home defeat to Cardiff.

“It is very different teams and it will be a different game,” said Pochettino.

“We were quite unlucky against Cardiff because we deserved more from that game, we did everything to win that game but it wasn’t to be for us that day.

“I think it was one of the easiest games we could have won but it didn’t happen in the end.

“Now against Aston Villa we know we are going to be facing a very tough team, a very physical side and a very difficult ground but our focus is always to win.”

Gaston is out, he has now turned both ankles! The one he did Saturday wasn't the one he did previously.

Let's hope Fonte puts in a performance. Been poor of late. Villains will be charged up having got rid of the 2 bullying thugs so it should be a cracker.

Gazzaniga did alright, but I still think Butland would be a better keeper if we want to buy in a young one and have them learn from super kelv and the Holy goalie.

He's young, English, fits the Southampton way and stoke have loaned him out to Leeds.

Freddie, get out the wallet, he could be a steal if MoPo is up for the deal.

We may not fancy the boy in goal but we should not be wishing any SAINTS PLAYER an injury . For that i gve you a thumbs down.
Yes i will be glad too see THE HOLY GOALIE back.

I find Gaston Ramires an enigma.
He has great talent but very little application.
He can play a wonder ball or simply just give it away.
I think with almost 2 seasons with us, he should now be holding down a place in our side.
People say give him time, he's young and we should be patient.
I think we are and have been.
Unfortunately he seems not to have the stamina or strength needed and is injury prone.
He has rarely ever finished a match, often suggested that he has cramped.
(How can this be the case, surely with the medical science, that is now available in our club?)

I find it frustrating.(You may have noticed)
I just want him to be the success he should already be.

I want to see that brilliant Gaston Ramires, the man I saw play for Uruguay 2 years ago.

It is time to step up .

Next time you fall down the stairs you won't get any sympathy from me, even if I did push you.
