Saints agree terms to bring Dave Watson to St Mary's

Daily Echo: Dave Watson Dave Watson

Norwich have confirmed that they have agreed terms with Saints to allow Dave Watson to become the club's new goalkeeping coach.

As previously reported by the Daily Echo, Watson is first choice to replace Toni Jimenez as Saints look to piece together a team around new manager Ronald Koeman and his two staff members.

A Norwich statement confirmed: "CITY can confirm the Club has agreed terms with Southampton in relation to goalkeeping coach Dave Watson.

"The Premier League club have been granted permission to speak to Watson regarding a potential move to St Mary’s."

Surprised at this one considering Kelvin Davies must surely be capable and I think he fancied the job as he loves Southampton, of course he's not retired so perhaps he feels he still has something to offer on the playing side as most of them say and can do the Keepers job he certainly looks fit and able and wants to continue playing until he says he's had enough, we wish Dave Watson good luck and hope he can bring a lot of luck to the best Club in the Universe Southampton FC The Saints COYR

Disagree S2S - RonKo will know about Lee at least, also these two appointments have experience of what the Premiership is all about and both have worked for the FA so should strengthen RonKo's team, but time will tell.
At least they show the Boards commitment to the rebuilding of the set up.

Since the tide went out we have been riding the crest of a wave for the last 5 years so maybe this is all a rebuilding plan ready to ride the next wave !!

you should really look into things a bit before try to take the P.
if you bothered to check, and we know you wont because facts aren't a strong point for your lot are they.
so just to let you know, He has also worked extensively with the England squad and has been praised for helping the likes of Joe Hart, Ben Foster and Jack Butland.
so not only has he made ruddy a good keeper but hes also helped the cream of English keepers!
so far from `committing suicide` her staff have just employed an excellent goalkeeping coach!

Kelvin Davis hasn't finished his playing career let alone earned his coaching badges so give him a chance!!

Saints will have wanted a goal keeping coach who has been around to different clubs and working with England will have a good idea on top goal keepers coming through the ranks that Saints will now be interested in.

I think bringing in Lee and Watson, is sound business, as should Ronko decide to move on, at a later stage, these two will (hopefully) be loyal to the club and help prevent a similar situation as now.

Look at Citeh. Seems that every time a manager moves on, Brian Kidd stays on, which may act as a calming influence on the squad, something we have lacked since May.

Actually, bookies are not very accurate about these kinds of things until close to the end of the season. They succeed financially because they hedge very well.

9 premier league goals and 6 assists, this is why one of the worlds top clubs are paying £26m for him.
If he was as bad as you seem to think he is, he'd still be playing for Saints next season....
Just because a player costs £26m doesn't mean he going to be a success, after all Liverpool did pay £35m for Andy Carroll and he didn't exactly set the world on fire did he.

I think you should do some research, he has coached Ben Foster, Joe Hart and John Ruddy, not bad for a seventies defender.

Les take a bow..
Your puerile comments are really quite tiresome. You clearly have no knowledge of football, business or modern management practices. And given we haven't actually announced any new signings yet your astrological skills are somewhat questionable too! You are quite adept at posterior linguistics however.
Ever represented saints? I have
Played for over 20 years at various levels.supported saints for over 32 years.managed local sides and been to far too many games.i am currently self employed and successful.i have a loving family, great home and live in the best city in the world.
I have my opinion and you have yours.
How come somebody claiming to have that sort of pedigree is such a negative, ill informed **** then?

About the only thing I have read of yours than I can remember agreeing with is your last sentence. I have my opinion and you have yours. Yours is just obviously over inflated one of yourself.

The only thing you've proved to me with this statement is that you're not the sad, sorry, little miserable git in their late teens I thought you might be. You could be old enough to be that poor little sod's dad though and if so it's clear where he gets it from.

Great news at last. More great news when Dipsy (Lalla) f@cks off today and we get a decent attacking midfielder who can actually score more than a handful of goals and weigh in with bucket loads of assists for a new striker as well.

You don't get to watch too much football do you?
9 premier league goals and 6 assists, this is why one of the worlds top clubs are paying £26m for him.
If he was as bad as you seem to think he is, he'd still be playing for Saints next season....
I've probably played and watched a lot more football than you've had w@nks which by the sounds of it is a vast amount.
Don't even think you or St Gaz are actually Saints fans and are probably the same person or bell end.

Can't wait for the new season to start.
Thank you for your articulate reply.
You obviously don't rate Lallana, I obviously do... a difference of opinions.
I think we might also have a different level of intellect.
Good evening
I'd agree about our intellect levels being different so you're not "wronge"?? there.
You also seem to get a touch annoyed and resort to condescending remarks when other peoples opinions differ from yours which is not a good trait when posting on a forum such as this.
I'll ignore your self opinionated comments from now on as they are not really worth a reply and you should refrain from commenting on mine as they seem to upset you so much.

Are you for real? Calm down a bit son.
