A SOUTHAMPTON man has been banned from all football matches for three years and made to pay more than £1,000 after being found guilty of racial abuse during a Saints match.
Rhys John Kerry, 24, of The Grove in Southampton, was found guilty of the offence and was handed the Saints ban following the incident during a 4-1 home defeat to Spurs in December.
Kerry also pleaded guilty to assault at Southampton magistrates earlier this month and has been made to pay more than £1,000 in fines and court costs.
The 24-year-old was fined £400 for his actions on December 28 last year and ordered to pay £620 in costs. He also has to pay £50 compensation for the assault charge.
The banning order stops Kerry from going within an outlined area four hours before kick-off time and six hours after that time, as well as being banned from entering any town or city that Saints are playing an away fixture in.
