A WINCHESTER architecture firm has won a national award for its designs.
ADAM Architecture won the five-star award at the UK stage of the International Property Awards.
The firm took the Best Architecture Multiple Residence gong for 95 luxury homes it designed on the grounds of Bentley Priory, a Grade II* listed mansion north of London.
The site was the Royal Air Force’s command headquarters during World War Two and remained in military hands until 2008.
ADAM Architecture opened in 1955 and has designed buildings all over the world.
Director Nigel Anderson said: "It is a great honour to receive this award. The commission provided an opportunity to replace the disused RAF buildings with new homes that fuse sympathetically with the surrounding landscape and the historic mansion house, whilst at the same time, creating luxury and desirable places to live with the modern and contemporary features expected of new houses today."
The awards were judged by a panel of more than 70 experts, chaired by three members of the House of Lords.
