OUTDOOR attraction Go Ape, which has a forest adventure site in Itchen Valley Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park in the New Forest, has announced record visitor numbers in 2014.

More than 820,000 people visited its 28 UK sites last year, leading to a turnover of £18.2m – an increase of 28 per cent from 2013.

The company will unveil a brand new Go Ape City Park Adventure in Battersea Park this spring, which will feature a more condensed but challenging tree top adventure for adults and children set against the backdrop of one of London’s most popular parks.

Last year the firm also invested £2m into the launch of Scotland's first indoor trampoline park – Air Space – in East Kilbride, with further parks expected to open across the UK this year.

Jerome Mayhew, managing director at Go Ape, said: “I am thrilled that 2014 enabled us to welcome so many new and returning customers to our adventures and we plan to accelerate this growth in 2015.

“I am particularly proud of the way our team has developed great new ideas for the new year: it’s a challenge to keep up with their enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit!”
