A HAMPSHIRE businessman is celebrating the tenth anniversary of his PR and marketing company Maxwell Communications.
Robin Lander Brinkley celebrated the landmark in style with a surprise party to mark the 10th year of setting up the firm.
Robin, 36, first studied marketing whilst at Warwick University.
After completing his degree and returning to the south coast, he started work for a local agency and completed a part-time Masters degree in the subject at the University of Portsmouth.
He believes setting up the business was a gamble that has paid off.
Robin, said: “When I started out on my own, people kept telling me that 50 per cent of businesses fail in the first year and 75 per cent of those left go down in their second.
“Similarly, when I first began my career in 2001, everyone said how difficult it would be to make it in marketing outside London, but I just blocked out any negativity and focused on what I felt I could do.”
“I have worked for over 50 companies across every industry sector, been asked to manage press conferences in Stockholm and Finland, and host conferences in Ho Chi Minh City, Capetown and Miami, but I have always nurtured a strong client base in Hampshire.”
