MEMBERS of a new-look clubhouse at Test Valley Golf Club welcomed the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane to their recent unveiling.

Cllr Anne Court attended the reception last Thursday (JUNE 25), alongside other guests, to celebrate the completed building works which now allow for more than 150 people.

Works included the addition of a terrace bar, which can seat around 40 people, as well as a marquee extension to the dining room and a dance floor.

It is hoped the renovations will make the golf club one of the county's premier hospitality locations.

The club’s chairman, Richard Ahrens, said: “We’ve got big plans for the golf club over the coming years. The first phase, now being officially opened, establishes us in the top-flight of hospitality locations, and the income from functions and events will enable us to continue our programme of work on the golf course. We’ve been working closely with a golf course architect, and our aim is to make our lovely course even better over the next few years – we plan to be one of the best down-land courses in Hampshire.”
