MORE than 200 people from the property and construction industry enjoyed an evening of entertainment and networking the annual RICS Hampshire and Isle of Wight dinner the Ageas Hilton.

The top-table guests included Cllr Jane Welsh, the mayor of Eastleigh; Matthew Robbins, president of Law Society, Hampshire; Professor Fiona Grant FRICS, chairwoman for RICS UK & Ireland world regional board; Graeme Hartley, RICS director UK regions; Lynn Robinson, RICS regional director UK South; Davina Goodchild, chief executive of LionHeart, and Professor Christian Ottensmeier from the Centre for Cancer Immunology in Southampton.

Alfie Moore, a serving police officer, entertained everyone with his comedic-style anecdotes based on personal experience of modern day policing.

The raffle raised more than £2,000 which was shared equally between LionHeart (RICS Benevolent Fund) and the Centre for Cancer Immunology in Southampton.

The event was sponsored byors: Paris Smith LLP, Turley and E3 Consulting.

Margaret Cameron member services co-ordinator, South East RICS, was praised for organising the dinner and was presented with a bouquet.

Russell Mogridge, director at Hughes Ellard said: “It was great to see so many familiar faces from the property world. The venue was first class. I have no doubt this is a firm fixture in all our."

Margaret is already at work organising next year’s dinner, to be held on Friday, January 27, 2017. More details will be available soon.

The next big RICS event on the Hampshire calendar is the Wessex Briefing at Norton Park, Winchester on March 17.

The conference covers a variety of building surveying topics, such as the future of low-carbon homes, dilapidations, surveying historic and listed buildings, as well as updates on CDM and building regulations.
