SOLICITORS Trethowans has launched a new health and safety and regulatory division to help businesses and individuals stay on the right side of the law.

The firm has appointed Sarah Wheadon, below, to head up the new department based at their Southampton offices.

Sarah is a criminal solicitor and higher court advocate and advises businesses on compliance with regulations, including health and safety, environmental, bribery, food safety and consumer protection.

Over her 20-year career she has successfully defended countless businesses and individuals being investigated for breaches of regulations by authorities such as the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency and Trading Standards.

As well as compliance and defence work, Sarah also regularly prosecutes for the RSPCA and is experienced in animal welfare law.

Sarah said: “Prevention is always better than cure and our mission will be to keep businesses out of the courtroom by ensuring they are fully compliant.”
