Top 100 UK law firm Keoghs is the latest high-profile tenant to choose the award-winning White Building in Southampton as its new regional base.

Keoghs, which specialises in claims-related services to the insurance industry, has chosen the landmark development for its south coast HQ.

The firm says it chose the building primarily because of its central location in Southampton’s business district and its outstanding contemporary design and facilities.

Alex Hodgson, of Keoghs, said: “As part of the expansion of our geographical reach, we needed a high quality workspace in Southampton to house a 30-strong team handling large and catastrophic loss claims for our insurance clients."

Keoghs' advisors OBI Property helped select the location and fitted out the new office.

Lambert Smith Hampton and JLL, sole joint agents for the completely-refurbished White Building, have now signed up six tenants – James Cowper, Keoghs, Yo Telecom, JCF Works, Regis Bentley, Novum Law and Wessex Petroleum.

'White Studios' has also been added to the mix to offer small serviced office suites.

The White Building, a former Inland Revenue building, in Cumberland Place, has already picked up two awards at the South Coast Property Awards – Development of the Year and Workplace Environment of the Year.

The occupation by Keoghs comes as the White Building is shortlisted in the commercial category for the prestigious RICS Awards South East, which recognises the most inspirational regional developments.

Andy Oliver, of Ashville Asset Management, which manages the building, said: “We have created a high-quality, flexible working environment at the White Building. With its inspirational design and great facilities, it is a place that promotes a better company culture and improved staff creativity and productivity."

Andy Hodgkinson, director of Office Agency for the Lambert Smith Hampton’s South Coast offices, said: “It really does have a buzz about it now and is widely acknowledged as one of the best working environments in the city – a fact that was recently recognised at the Solent Property Awards."
