Up to 60 jobs have been created as a new toy superstore opened its doors in Hampshire.

Smyths Toys Superstore has opened at Bradbeers Retail Park on Tollbar Way, Hedge End.

The store held its opening weekend in style with a live DJ providing entertainment and children also enjoyed free candy floss and facepainting.

The store is 14,500 square foot and has created 60 jobs - with most of the jobs offered to people in the area.

Store manager, Mike Willis, said: “We are delighted to be opening our brand new Smyths Toys Superstore in Hedge End.

“There’s sure to be a tremendous sense of fun with fantastic prizes to be won including a PS4 console!

Cabinet Lead for Economy at Eastleigh Borough Council, councillor Derek Pretty, said the opening was good news for the borough.

“The new store at Hedge End has provided jobs for local people and further contributes to the economic prosperity of the area.

“I am pleased to welcome Smyths Toys Superstore to Hedge End and wish them every success.”
