Alex O’Reilly of Oceana, Southampton is celebrating after earning a special achievement accolade from the UK’s largest operator of bars and clubs.
At the Deltic Groups annual awards ceremony on Tuesday night, which aspires to recognise the company’s brightest stars, General Manager Alex was awarded with the Graham Peel award for his contribution to the Leisureworld venue.
Judges were particularly impressed by Alex and his teams work in competing with stiff local competition. By focussing on customer service and introducing additional attractions, including theatre, light shows and entertainment, the club is thriving.
Alex received his trophy from chief executive Peter Marks at the event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire.
Regional director Ged Gorrie added: “Thanks to Alex, Southampton Oceana is continuing to grow and has a bright future. He is a very worthy recipient of the Graham Peel Award.”
Named in memory of a former employee, the Graham Peel Award recognises a general manager who has turned around an under-performing business through new initiatives and innovation.
Alex was delighted with the success: “I love everything about my job and to receive this award is a real unexpected bonus. I’m delighted to share this award with my team, who have all contributed so much to making Oceana the town’s best late-night venue.”
