WHILE other manufacturers are cutting back or closing down, the motorhome specialist, Romahome is going from strength to strength and its Isle of Wight workforce is on overtime.
The firm, which is part of the Southampton-based Freeborn Group, is planning a 50 per cent rise in production this year as its models enjoy ever-growing popularity.
MD, Brian Bailey, says planned output is being lifted from its 2009 level of approximately 160 units to a record 240 as the latest model, the R25, comes fully on-stream.
Based on the second-generation Citroen Berlingo and launched in October, it has already claimed its first award, being named Small Motorhome of the Year by Motorcaravan and Motorhome Monthly.
It’s the latest of Romahome’s many accolades and a sure sign that the firm is onto another winner.
