INEOS, one of Hampshire’s biggest companies, is preparing to move its headquarters out of the county and overseas in a bid to save on tax bills.
The implications for its Lyndhurst headquarters are today unclear, although the company said its day-to-day operations both in the UK and elsewhere around the world would remain unaffected.
As Britain’s largest private company, it would be a major blow for UK PLC if Ineos followed through with its threat to move to Switzerland. Ineos is largely owned by new Forest based billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, one of the UK’s richest men.
