FLIGHTS from Southampton to Jersey are among airline Flybe’s biggest sellers in the UK for its money-spinning August bank holiday weekend.
Passenger numbers are up five per cent on last year, with bosses reporting “strong last-minute demand” for many of the 1,836 flights on its regional network.
The channel island destination and flights to Edinburgh, as holidaymakers visit the famous festival, are the only routes from Southampton, Flybe’s biggest base in the UK, to feature in its ten busiest for the weekend.
Meanwhile Southampton Airport has been nominated for the Best Regional UK Airport at the annual Business Travel Awards.
Companies are voted for by travellers, making award the most coveted prizes in the travel industry.
The winner of the award will be chosen by the level of votes received, and so Southampton Airport is urging people to support their local airport by voting online before September 30. Visit britishtravelawards.com and click on the ‘Voting Form’ tab.
