Highlighting the best Hampshire firms have to offer

“DIVERSITY, innovation and dynamism.”

These are just a few of the qualities that will be needed by the winners of Hampshire business Awards.

The Daily Echo-backed accolades have grown to be the premier annual corporate awards competition in the region over the last 20 years.

During that time firms have had to deal with rapid change, new technologies and economic challenges.

Phil Cotton, senior partner at KPMG’s South Coast office said: “Although the past two decades have seen plenty of change in how companies operate, the fundamentals of good business remain the same and those which demonstrate strategic vision, corporate agility, strong leadership and financial excellence continue to succeed and highlight Hampshire as a great place to do business.”

Past winners of the Hampshire Business Awards include defence business Chemring Group, global integrated engineering consultancy Scott Wilson, Southampton International Airport, waste management company Hippowaste and Garmin, which specialises in satellite navigation and communication.

Daily Echo editor Ian Murray said: “The awards are a fabulous institution that highlights the very best of what Hampshire has to offer and we are proud to have been associated with them right from the start.

“As we struggle to cope with one of the toughest economic climates on record, it is more important than ever to bang the drum for Hampshire business.”

Sponsors include KPMG, Bond Pearce and RBS.

This year, three award categories are up for grabs: the Bond Pearce Innovation Award, KPMG Company of the Year and RBS Management Team of the Year. Winners in each category will be announced at a gala dinner on October 7, to be hosted by BBC television presenter Bill Turnbull at the Royal Marines Museum in Southsea.
