FOLLOWING on from another hugely successful year of the monthly Goodwood Breakfast Club events, the themes and timings for these popular Sunday morning meetings have now been confirmed for the 2010 season.
As in previous years, the majority of the Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings – the greatest free motoring event on the calendar – will be held on the first Sunday of the month at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex.
There will be a couple of exceptions to this, however, with Breakfast Club meetings being held on the last Sunday of June and August, so as not to clash with the preparations for the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed (being held on July 2-4) and the Goodwood Revival (September 17-19).
The Revival, a historic classic race meeting for pre-1966 cars reflecting the circuit’s previous heyday, last year quietly set a new benchmark with the surprise UK debuts of ‘future concepts’ otherwise kept under wraps until last week’s Autosport International show at the NEC.
These included the new Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Nissan 370Z Roadster and Noble M600.
And the Breakfast Club too has provided the first chance to see some amazing machines.
Following the first successful December Breakfast Club meeting a few weeks ago, this festive end-of-year meet will now form a regular part of the Goodwood calendar, and will include a Christmas market full of stalls selling authentic and appealing gifts.
The 2010 Goodwood Breakfast Club season promises an eclectic mix of vehicles, trade stands and a tempting breakfast menu to whet the appetite of any motoring enthusiast The Breakfast Club was launched to huge acclaim in March 2006 with a total of seven themed meetings, each attracting a strong ‘petrolhead’ audience.
For 2010, the Breakfast Club meetings have been enhanced with a new set of themes plus other initiatives designed to appeal to the motoring enthusiast with a healthy appetite.
In addition to some great cars, owners of interesting motorcycles, trucks, and even buses, are also encouraged to attend.
The first of the Breakfast Club meetings will take place on Sunday March 7, catering for any pre-1973 tax exempt vehicle. For this and every other month a selection of vehicles, appropriate to each monthly theme, will be parked-up and displayed within the historic Motor Circuit, while regular vehicles will be directed to the public parking area just across the road.
A dedicated Goodwood Breakfast Club website (Goodwood.com/breakfastclub) highlights updates on each monthly theme, and enabling visitors to pre-register their vehicle and attendance online to secure easy parking and breakfast access.
Below is a full list of the 2010 Goodwood Breakfast Club dates and themes, with a summary of the sort of eligible vehicles visitors can expect to see.
