JIMMY Quinn is set to replace ex-Saints coach Kevin Bond as manager of AFC Bournemouth - with Jason Tindall as his assistant, writes NEIL PERRETT.

The former Cherries pair are believed to be the choice of new owners Alastair Saverimutto and Paul Baker after Bond and his management team were relieved of their duties at the club this evening.

Bond - together with assistants Rob Newman and Eddie Howe - has paid the price for Cherries' poor start to the new season.

They were summoned to an emergency board meeting at Dean Court earlier today and have left the club with immediate effect.

Head of youth Joe Roach will take charge of Cherries' Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash against Bristol Rovers tomorrow, with Quinn and Tindall expected to be installed later this week.

Bond was coach at Saints under Harry Redknapp before leaving St Mary's shortly after Redknapp returned to Portsmouth in November 2005.

This is such a shame, he worked wonders last season (although they were relegated!). I think he so nearly turned around what looked like mission impossible.

Hope you find something again soon Kev.

Talking of ex-saints, anybody notice Pearson got Manager of the Month for August....??
