David Hasslehoff and Scott Mills visit Crestwood School in Eastleigh

SCHOOLCHILDREN got the shock of their lives when a Hollywood star wandered into their classroom accompanied by a famous ex-pupil.

They got the chance to meet Baywatch star David Hasslehoff as he joined Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills for a trip back to his old Hampshire school.

The pair – pictured with youngsters and teachers – were at Crestwood School, in Eastleigh, filming a six-part reality TV show based on Scott’s life as a follow-up to his Living With The Hoff documentary.

The teachers said David was charming and told them how much he liked the school and thought the children were well-behaved.

Head teacher Krista Carter said: “They were both lovely, signing autographs and showing an interest in what the kids were doing. I think the staff were almost as bowled over as the children.

“It was strange because the kids all know The Hoff from Britain’s Got Talent whereas the teachers all remember him from Baywatch and Knight Rider. A few of the female teachers may have swooned a little.”

Afterwards The Hoff met Scott’s mum and had a cup of tea and some cheese on toast.

It would've all gone terribly wrong if the Hoff had consumed a few beers and a cheeseburger before going there...
(assuming everyone has seen the footage)

Isn't the Hoff famous for America's Got Talent and not Britain's Got Talent?

Hoff, I hope you read this.

If you are still in the country next Thursday, you are very welcome to come to my wedding in the New Forest.

I've always felt that you and I could be great friends.

Perhaps the Hoff was *wondering* why on earth the Daily Echo can't use spellcheck.

I'm glad it was Cheese On Toast and not a trip to McDonalds to get a Big Mac!!!

The Hoff is an absolute legend. I remember watching the first ever episode of Knight Rider and thinking it was the best thing I'd ever seen. I was 9 at the time. Thanks for the memories Hoff

Funny, I always remember him being a large bear in a green hat and golden jacket ?

Wasn't he called George in those days ?

The Hoff is indeed an absolute legend, he'll quite readily admit that himself.
I remember seeing him on a chat show recently, he was talking about when he walked into a random bar and everyone recognised him, he said 'it was just like Jesus had walked in'!
What a Guy!

Actually there aren't any spelling mistakes, just a slight oops about Britsain got Talent instead of America's got Talent. Some people just have nothing better to do than pick holes in something.

I'm sickened and saddened and sadly sickened by the fact that the children only know this fine thespian for his work in reality television and the teachers for his performances as the hunk in baywatch and the dynamic Michael Knight.

You people haven't lived if you haven't seen his olivier-esque performance as himself in the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie

Shame on you!

Whoever won the best actor Oscar should have it stripped from them and it should be re-awarded to the Hoff in a special ceremony hosted by Scott Mills.

In all honesty - good on him - i remember meeting Benny Hill when I was a little Boy (in a similarly random event) and I'll never forget it! It had a profound effect on my life!?!
