I teach Therapeutic Yoga - this is a gentle, more ‘mindful’ and intuitive form of Hatha Yoga which takes into account the clients conditions, injuries and state of emotional well being. Poses are often adapted to the needs and ability of the individual. And clients are encouraged to use props such bolsters and blankets to support their bodies natural, muscular tension release.
Therapeutic Yoga is a blend of supported restorative poses, mindful movement, concentrated stretches focusing on the present, simple pranayama breathwork, meditation and Yoga Nidra / relaxation.
Each practice we explore new poses and breathing techniques so clients can explore different poses and variations. The practice is small in numbers - maximum of 6 clients. Classes are held at my home mainly so the atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is very supportive of each other - the space is very nurturing and peaceful or as one of my students put it "like being somewhere abroad".
