A HAMPSHIRE mother of twins has written a book to help guide other parents through having multiple babies.

Don’t Panic! A Practical Guide to Twins, Triplets and More is now available on Amazon as an eBook. Written by digital entrepreneur and blogger, Karen Bleakley, from Fareham, the book offers positive support and practical tips to multiple birth families as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime.

“When my non-identical boys were little, I got bored of hearing comments like: 'You’ve got your hands full', and 'I’d rather die than have twins'. Not to mention the people who said things under their breath as they walked past me in town like, 'thank goodness I didn’t have twins!'," says Karen, who now lives in Australia.

" I knew that I needed to write something for parents of multiples that brought together the unique knowledge of multiple birth families to help support the next generation of multiple mums and dads."

Bleakley went on to start her family blog, Tales of a Twin Mum, and then collected input from over 100 multiple birth families to create the book that she wished had been available when she was expecting her twins.

Karen is the second member of the Fareham and Gosport Twin Club to publish a book about expecting more than one baby. Johnny Pearce published his book, Twins: A Survival Guide for Dads in 2011.

Don’t Panic! A Practical Guide to Twins, Triplets and More explores pregnancy, birth, the newborn stage and the first precious year.

Backed by a stack of free bonus material online, every stage of this book has been shaped by an army of multiple mums and dads.

“The book is also aimed at the family and friends of those expecting more than one baby," adds Karen.

"If you don’t have multiples yourself it’s impossible to comprehend the unique challenges. This book allows expectant parents to invite people into the bubble with them so they can get the support and understanding they need."

The ebook is priced at £6.49 and is available from Amazon. A print book will follow later in the year.
