AS trainers we have people coming to us daily asking for help because they are so unhappy with their bodies.

You may be one of these people feeling like its breaking your confidence while making you feel miserable.

The first thing we always ask is what are you doing about it? Most common response to this, nothing.

You can ponder as much as you want. Pondering and self pity doesn’t get you results, it gets you a ticket to no pity city. Don’t sit there miserable and expect your problems to disappear, they are going nowhere.

However, imagine an advert in the paper. It reads: “Want more energy than you can ever imagine?

"Want a clearer and more productive mind? Want to be less ill and have a chance to improve you life span considerably?

Daily Echo:

"All while having a great body? For an added bonus you will receive more strength, sleep better and look great.”

Would you buy this product? Of course you would. Who doesn’t want these benefits?

Why are we not doing this then? Simply because it’s not that easy. It takes dedication, hard training and more importantly consistency.

Now we understand that working out is hard.

However if something is so positive and good for you and your confidence, why wouldn’t you do it?

We need to be accountable for ourselves and stop justifying our negative actions. It’s holding way too many of you back.

Common examples include: I can’t get up at 5am it’s to early and I will be tired all day; I don’t have time to prep my lunch before work because I need time to relax; I need to go out with friends for drinks every week to stay social.

They are all lame excuses and you are capable of so much.

None of these reasons are good reasons for why you are not doing what you want to do, so stop kidding yourself and be honest with yourself that they are simply excuses.

It’s time to start getting on with it and thinking about solutions and ways to get that summer ready body you have always wanted.

In conclusion, stop holding yourself back from being your best.

Get on with what needs to be done and continue this for 21 days.

This is the time it takes to make a task into a habit and become a lifestyle.

This then becomes just a way of life and no longer an effort or struggle.

Get on board with the summertime shape up and become your best.
