Flybe Local Heroes Awards Flybe Local Heroes Awards

IF you teach in the Southampton region and could make your students high flyers with a £7,000 cash boost, Flybe could help.

The Southampton-based airline carrier has launched its first Flybe Local Heroes Awards in the county and will give a special award to education in the community.

Schools, colleges, youth projects, or anyone fulfilling an education need is eligible to apply.

The winner will get £3,000 in cash and £4,000 in vouchers to use on the Flybe travel network.

Educational institutions or individuals who teach can nominate themselves for the money.

Or if you know somebody who gives vital education to children or adults and is worthy of the bursary, get in touch.

There is now only one week before the judging panel of footballing legend Matt Le Tissier, Flybe head of marketing Ian Taylor and Daily Echo editor Ian Murray will start shortlisting the nominations to crown the winner as Flybe education hero of the year.

The money would go towards helping to fulfill a project or to get resources in order to teach.

The travel bursary could be used for an educational trip or to bring experts to Southampton.

As part of the Flybe Local Heroes Awards, the judging panel are also looking for nominations for Sport in the Community and Charity in the Community.
