IT’S THAT time of year when we don our thick coats and brave the cold weather to gaze at pretty flashes in the sky while consuming soup from a styrofoam cup.
Across the county, people will be hosting or attending bonfire events this weekend – many of which will have a specially built “Guy” to be burnt.
On these pages are a selection of images of the flammable effigies built locally through the years.
Some were ornately dressed and masterfully reminiscent of ther man, while others simply looked like a lifeless pile of clothing.
Either way – they all went up in smoke.
