CRAIG David's musical career got off to an early start. He was just 13 when his mum bought him his first set of mixing decks. He started making his own CDs and selling them in local shops as well as DJing in local clubs.

He also started working with fellow-Southampton producers, UK garage act Artful Dodger, collaborating with them in writing Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta).

David sung on the track which became a number two hit in 1999. The single spent 75 weeks in the charts and paved the way for David's solo career.

His next single, Fill Me In, reached the number one spot in April 2000 when he was 18, making him the youngest British male solo artist to reach the top of the charts.

It was taken from David's hit debut album, Born to do It, which also spawned such hits as 7 Days and Walking Away.

David became a huge star and was one of the hottest British males on the music scene for a while.

However, his second album, Slicker Than Your Average, released in 2002, was less successful than his debut and his star began to fade a little, with some of his single releases not even making the Radio One playlist.

His third album, The Story Goes , was released in 2005, and he enjoyed a return to chart success with singles All The Way and Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry).

David's star has faded a little in the UK recently but he is doing well overseas. Part of the reason for his absence from the limelight has been because he has been working on new material, much of which he recorded with Mark Hill, formerly of Artful Dodger, in Southampton.

David tries to use his fame for good, getting involved in Saints' anti-racism campaign as well as anti-bullying initiatives.
