THEY were the teams who represented a girls’ school in various sports for more than two decades.

Ruth Neary, a retired teacher from what was Sholing Girls’ School has been in touch with the Daily Echo to share some of the pictures she accumulated through her career.

The images show a wide range of sporting teams, from netball to rounders, trampolining to tennis.

Over the years the teams competed in a variety of regional and national competitions, sometimes even adding to their silverware collection.

As well as having a trove of pictures, Mrs Neary also has a video, a clip of which can be seen on dailyecho.co.uk.

The video provides a glimpse into what school life was like decades ago, not just including sports, but cookery and more.

If you recognise yourself in any of the pictures, or would like to get a DVD with the full video, Ruth can be contacted on 01305 835190.
