You’ve seen the film, read the books, visited the museums, now you can spend time colouring Titanic illustrations.

RMS Titanic sank after colliding with an iceberg in 1912 and her story still fascinates people all over the world today. Nowhere was the tragedy of the Titanic disaster more felt than in Southampton, where more than 500 households lost family members.

The Titanic arrived in Southampton in the late hours of April 3, 1912, and was tied up at the pier just after midnight. Titanic’s home port was Southampton and it was from here she would set sail on her fateful maiden voyage.

For local readers or anyone with an interest in the beauty of the Titanic and her interiors, this beautifully drawn RMS Titanic Colouring Book will help while away the dark winter evenings.

This book celebrates the ship rather than focusing on the tragedy and is aimed at people of all ages including adults, who enjoy colouring.

This colouring book presents the ship in all her glory, dwelling on the details of her staircases and staterooms, scenes on deck and the dining rooms, its Turkish baths and swimming pool, the engine rooms, as well as showcasing her steaming out to sea with high hopes.

The book finally presents the ship as she is today, resting on the ocean floor.

The artist is Lucy Hester who has based all her 46 illustrations on black-and-white photographs from the time and coloured postcards of Titanic’s interior.

Lucy Hester has two children, and lives in the Forest of Dean.

Steve Hall is co-author of Titanic in Photographs as well as contributor to Titanic: The Ship, and Magnificent and Titanic: A Centennial Reappraised.
