Although the Woolhouse has had a long and varied history since it was built in the 14th century, it is only since 1966 it played any part in the Titanic story.

It was in that year it was made into Southampton's Maritime Museum and housed exhibitions relating to Titanic.

However, it closed its doors in 2011, in preparation for the opening of the larger Sea City Museum, which will house a dedicated Titanic exhibition alongside many more artefacts from Southampton's maritime history.
