Miller Homes challenged students at Chamberlayne College for the Arts in Southampton to suggest designs for a bedroom to coincide with the launch of the 3 bedroom Blyton show home at its Admirals Wood development in Sarisbury Green.
“We like to be involved with the community whenever we can and this seemed like a great way of involving the college,” says Tracey Lee, Sales Director. “We had some great designs to consider and it was very hard to pick a winner.”
It was also a task the students tackled with great enthusiasm.
“Our year 8 students were very keen to enter this competition,” says Tony Delany, Head of Creative Technologies. “They were invited to design the interior for the master bedroom and really liked the open brief which placed no limits on their imagination. Personally, I’m impressed with the students’ readiness to take their initial ideas further and develop them. Overall, the experience was very positive, encouraging independent and creative learning and we are grateful to Miller Homes for giving our students this wonderful opportunity.”
Eventually Jayde Jeffrey was chosen as the winner and received her prize of £150 of ITunes vouchers.
This new phase at Admirals Wood is already selling well, with no fewer than 6 purchases being taken off plan.
“There are a number of benefits for buyers who do this which includes having the pick of the plots, the chance to see your new home being built and also the opportunity to personalise your new home depending on the build stage,” added Tracey.
2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes available with prices ranging from £241,000 to £349,950 with the new show home opening on Saturday 29th March.
