Long established and specialist property agency The Country House Company have appointed a new Head of Sales to further advance this successful brand that has become synonymous with the sale, letting and management of country property in Hampshire, West Sussex and The Surrey Hills.

The Country House Company are welcoming Patrick Glynn-Jones, previously of Savills for over 18 years and most recently Head of Office for them in Newbury.

This appointment will take the team to 9 and Sue Crossley, co founder with her husband Robert, sees this next step in the growth of the business as a key one.

As Sue commented, “The Country House Company has built a reputation of offering a high quality individual service operating with integrity and professionalism at all times for our lettings, sales and management clients. We are excited about carrying this ethos forward as we take the sales side of our business up to the next level with Patrick.”

Patrick comments; “I am delighted that Sue and Robert have given me the opportunity to bring my 28 years experience in property to their business. I recognize the ethos and so very much anticipate that my time with one of the most highly respected agencies in the industry will benefit The Country House Company. The prospect of scaling the business, whose core values align with mine, is really exciting…. and the company name says it all…. experts in country houses.”

Patrick began his career in West London in 1987 before opening Savills, Richmond in 1999 where he remained for over 10 years. A move to the countryside with his young family was always an aspiration and this became a reality when he was appointed Head of Office in Newbury. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Savills collaborating with some of the finest professionals in the business. However I was keen to embrace a new challenge and to really make a difference in the evolution of a business that was able to be adaptable and where we could offer a standout service to those with country houses specifically.”

Sue added; “We are thrilled to welcome Patrick to The Country House Company team; his extensive experience in the industry and enthusiasm will be invaluable as we expand the business further”.

Already this year The Country House Company have seen the market turn a corner and believe that we are entering a period where all the indicators point to a healthy environment. The price differential between London, where prices have stalled, and the country are as wide as they have ever been and with mortgage rates so low and the UK economy setting an example to the rest of the world with growth and high employment there will have rarely been a better time to buy in the country. Whilst the stamp duty regime has been overhauled and is more costly for those buying at over £935,000, if you are buying a 10-20 year house the outlay must surely be worth it for the right home. If the country market closes the gap on London that extra stamp duty will quickly be made up by rising values.

It is The Country House Company’s strong belief that if you have plans to move house preparations should be put in hand now and in particular ahead of the election. Those that offer their homes for sale before the likely rush to market after May 7th will be able to take advantage of the very many buyers who we believe are waiting to buy now if the right house becomes available.

Patrick, who starts with The Country House Company on April 1st, would be delighted to speak to you about the market, your home in that context and how The Country House Company can deliver the best possible outcome for you.
