One of the South’s leading housing associations, Radian, has picked up yet more silverware – this time winning Best Marketing Campaign in the prestigious National Housing Awards.

The trophies, which highlight the best performers in England’s affordable housing sector, were handed out on Thursday September 12th at the Lancaster London Hotel in a ceremony hosted by comedian Jack Dee.

Radian saw off three others on the shortlist to claim the title for its excellent marketing strategy for the HomesinHants website: a one-stop-shop for all affordable home ownership options in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Using a set of colourful and instantly recognisable designs, Radian also developed an iPhone app and hosted HomeBuy shows and events to attract even more visitors.

The judges were looking for “a true understanding of target market(s), customer needs and wants” and praised Radian for its “good use of multiple channels – online and offline; consistent branding across all channels”.

HomesinHants is Radian’s brand for marketing affordable home ownership schemes across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The schemes, which include shared-ownership and the recently introduced Help to Buy, aim to help people on low or moderate incomes in England get on to the property ladder.

Radian was appointed to the local HomeBuy contract by the Homes and Communities Agency in 2004. Since then it has helped thousands of first-time buyers.

The award-winning marketing campaign was another reflection of Radian’s local focus as it combined with Gosport-based Quay Systems and Design Image from Portsmouth.

Head of Radian Home Ownership Tim Willcocks said: “We’re thrilled our efforts have been recognised by this award, because with a limited budget we work hard to focus HomesinHants very closely on what our customers need and want.

“No matter what their income, lots of people have the aspiration to own their own home. We want to help them by providing advice and support which is effective, simple and easy to understand.

“I think that’s why we won this award and we’re very proud of such a great team effort. But our priority, of course, remains our customers and giving them the help they need to find their home.”
