AN AUCTION of designer furniture from a show home at Redrow Homes' prestigious Lymington Shores development has raised over a thousand pounds for the Oakhaven Hospice Trust.

The silent auction raised monies for the hospice on Lower Pennington Lane. The money raised will be used to help the facility continue its ongoing work to provide palliative patient care and support for those facing life-limiting illness, as well as their loved ones, in both a home and hospice setting.

Redrow needed to remove the furniture from the show home to make way for the new owner of the home to move in. Rather than putting the furniture into storage, the housebuilder decided to hold an internal silent auction for Redrow staff to bid on the items.

All of the remaining unsold furniture was also donated to the hospice, to be used within the centre or sold through its own local charity shop.
