HE completed a master’s degree.

But with thousands of Hampshire’s 18 to 25-year-olds unemployed, it can be difficult to get a foot in the door.

That’s why Richard Blakely has joined the Daily Echo’s Give Me a Chance campaign.

The 25-year-old from St Denys would most like to find media or publishing work.

He achieved a first class media degree at Southampton Solent University in 2010 and went on to study a master’s in scriptwriting at the University of East Anglia in Norwich but has now returned home to Southampton.

He said: “I would like to work in media or publishing because I’m passionate about the industry. I’m creative and like to get stuck in.”

Richard is well travelled. He grew up in the Philippines as his parents moved there to work, but they have since moved back to the UK. While he lived in Manila he attended an international school.

He has also spent some time in Northern Ireland, where he worked in a pharmacy, and Norway, where he worked in a hotel.

As well as seeing the world, Richard enjoys watching films, reading and cooking.

He describes himself as a hardworking and organised person who likes to take the initiative, but most of all he’s keen to find his dream career.
