SAINTS legend Francis Benali showed his festive spirit by kicking off a charity Christmas tree sale.
The stalwart defender was at Paul Capper Funeral Directors in Eastleigh after the firm agreed to sell on trees that it had received as a gift.
They were donated to the company by Joey Peters in memory of his parents, and all the proceeds from the sale will go towards the Dave Wellman Cancer Trust.
The very first tree went to charity founder Tina Wellman-Hawke.
She said: “I cannot thank Joey Peters enough for his wonderful gesture.
“I have known Paul Capper for years and he continually raises money for many good causes.
“I am overwhelmed at such kindness and thank everyone involved at such a special time when we can remember our loved ones who have left us, and also those who are fighting every day.”
The Christmas trees, which are available for £15, are on sale from Paul Capper Funeral Directors on Leigh Road in Eastleigh.
