HAMPSHIRE’S lifesavers may not have Christmas Day off but thanks to one Hampshire hotel they will be able to tuck into a traditional turkey lunch.

This year Lainston House Hotel has invited the crew of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to join them for Christmas meal with all the trimmings.

Pilot Stu Mayor and the two paramedics accompanying him on the Christmas Day shift will get the chance to enjoy pulling crackers and sharing festivities with hotel guests, in between any missions they may have to fly.

John Perry, chief executive of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, said: “We are hugely grateful to David Connell and the staff at Lainston House Hotel for their kind generosity.

“We ensure there is a crew for the air ambulance every day of the year and Christmas Day is no exception.

“Therefore, giving the crew the chance to enjoy a Christmas lunch in such a wonderful setting is a huge treat and very much appreciated.”
