FROM rockets and ‘traffic lights’ to sparklers and Catherine wheels – Hampshire’s skies will explode with colour for Bonfire Night.

People young and old will wrap up warm and head out to events across the county as schools, clubs, businesses and organisations mark the occasion with a bang.

Among the highlights will be the show-stopping Daily Echo-backed display at Mayflower Park which will light up the Solent on November 8.

NOVEMBER 5

• Redbridge Community School, Cuckmere Lane, Southampton. A Bonfire Night event runs from 6pm-8.30pm with live bands, a barbecue and fairground rides. Tickets are £4 for adults, £3 for children and £12 for families and must be bought |in advance by calling the school reception on 023 8077 1381.

• Totton Sports Club, Southern Gardens, Totton. Budding singers can have a go at karaoke at the event which starts at 6pm. There will also be funfair rides, stalls and refreshments ahead of fireworks at 8pm. Tickets are available to purchase from the club.

• Broughton Sports Field, Stockbridge. A children’s torch procession will leave The Square by the Greyhound pub at 6.30pm to arrive at the sports field in time to light the bonfire at 6.45pm. A 20-minute firework display will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 for adults and £5 for children and concessions and are available on the gates or in advance from West View Stores.

• Arlebury Park, Arlesford. Flaming torches will be paraded by the public down West Street from 7pm ahead of fireworks at Arlebury Park at 7.45pm. The event is organised by Alresford Rotary Club. Tickets are £6 in advance or £8 on the day and are available from Six West in Alresford and the Courtyard Shop in Ropley.

• King George V Playing Fields, Cosham. There will be a children’s funfair for under 12s from 4pm and live music from 6pm, with fireworks starting at 7.30pm at |the free event.

NOVEMBER 7

• The Ageas Bowl, West End. Gates open 6pm and a 20-minute firework display starts at 8pm. Tickets are £8 for adults, £6 for under 17s, free for under fives and £22 for families of two adults and two children when bought before November 7. Parking must be booked in advance.

• Nightingale Primary School, Blackbird Road, Eastleigh. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm ahead of a fireworks display from 7pm. There will also be entertainment from a fire performer and live music. Tickets at the gate are £6 for adults, £3 for all children under 16 and £5 for OAPs. Last entry is 6.45pm.

• Fryern Infant and Junior School, Oakmount Road, Chandler’s Ford. Gates open at 5.30pm for fireworks at 7pm. Tickets are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children and free for under twos. There is a 50p discount when bought in advance.

• Swanmore Primary School, Church Road, Swanmore. Gates open at 5.15pm ahead of fireworks at 6.30pm. Tickets on the night are £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children.

• Woodhill School, Brook Lane, Botley. There will be a small funfair and fireworks at the event from 5.30pm until 8.30pm. Tickets are £3 for children, £6 for adults and £15 for a family of four by calling 01489 781112.

• Ranvilles Junior School, Fareham. Gates open at 6pm ahead of fireworks at 7pm. On the gate tickets cost £7 for adults, £6 for students, £5 for children and £16 for families of four.

• St Judes School, Bishopsfield Road, Fareham. The school is hosting two firework displays and discos for its pupils. Infant school children are invited to the first event from 6pm-7.15pm and junior school children can go to the second event from 7.30pm-8.45pm. Tickets are £2.50 from the school office.

• St Lukes CofE School, Sway, New Forest. Gates open at 5pm for fireworks at 6pm. Tickets are £3 in advance from the school by calling 01590 682431, Sway Butchers or the newsagents or £4 on the night.

• Strawberry Field, Boldre, New Forest. The event starts at 5.30pm with a bonfire, a bouncy castle, rides, face painting and a competition for the best Guy. Fireworks start at 7.30pm. Tickets on the gate are £5 for adults, £3 for children and free for under fives.

• Coles Mead Recreation Ground, Lyndhurst, New Forest. Lyndhurst Junior Football Club |and the 1st New Forest North Scout Group are hosting a bonfire and fireworks display from 6.30pm. Fireworks start at 7pm. It costs £2.50 for adults and £1 for children.

• Ballard School, New Milton. Friends of Ballard School are hosting a fireworks display with live bands, a disco and refreshments from 6pm-8.45pm. Fireworks start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 on the night. Children under three go free.

• The Three Tunns Inn, Ringwood Road, Bransgore, Christchurch. Bonfire Night celebrations run from 5.30pm-11pm and features fireworks and live music from Christchurch & Highcliffe Brass Band. Tickets are £7 for adults or £4 for three to 16-year-olds on the gate.

• The Alice Lisle Inn, Rockford, Ringwood. |There will be Stormtroopers and a special fire and glow show from 6.30pm ahead of fireworks at 8.30pm. The free event will raise money for Julia’s House children’s hospice.

NOVEMBER 8

• Mayflower Park, Southampton. Fun fair starts at 3pm, live entertainment from 6pm and fireworks from 7.45pm. Children are £4, Adults £6 and under-5s go free. More details at mayflowerparkfireworks.co.uk

• Sherfield English Sports Field, Romsey. Gates open at 6pm for a traditional firework display. The bonfire will be lit at 6.15pm and the fireworks start at 7pm. Tickets are £4 for adults and £1 for children.

• Paultons Cricket Club, Whitemoor Lane, Ower. An event will be held from 6.30pm. Tickets are £5 for adults and £2.50 for children over two-years-old, which includes a soup, chilli or a jacket potato. For more information call 023 8081 4491.

• Wellow School, Romsey Road, Wellow. There will be pop music through the decades, a bonfire, refreshments and sparklers and glow sticks. It costs £20 for a family of two adults and up to three children in advance or £22 for families, £7 for adults and £4 for children and OAPs on the gate. Alcohol and fireworks must not be brought onto school grounds.

• Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley Abbey. Gates open 6pm, fireworks start at 7.30pm. There will also be miniature train rides and a mini funfair. Tickets are £7 for adults, £5 for children and £20 for a family of two adults and two children on the night. There is no access from behind Netley Sailing Club.

• Winchester Recreation Ground. People will meet at the Broadway at the bottom of Winchester High Street from 6pm ahead of a torchlight procession led by the Mayor of Winchester and chairman of Winchester Round Table from 6.30pm. The bonfire will be lit at the recreation ground at 7.15pm and fireworks will start at 7.45pm.

• Hinton Ampner House and Garden, Petersfield Road, Alresford. There will be a barbecue from 6pm before a display overlooking the South Downs. Tickets are £5 per person from 01962 771305.

• St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School, Titchfield Common. Bonfire Night celebrations run from 3pm-6pm with fairground rides, circus school, a fire performer and a pumpkin competition ahead of a fireworks display at 6pm. There will be parking at Kites Croft. Advanced tickets are available from the school office on 01489 579100 and can also be bought on the gate.

• Stubbington Baptist Church, Jay Close, Cuckoo Lane, Stubbington. Gates open at 6pm for a Bonfire Night celebration with fireworks. Contact the church on 01329 662602.

• Portchester Sailing Club, Portchester, Fareham. A fireworks night event runs from 6pm-11pm. Contact 023 9237 6375.

• Fawcetts Field, Christchurch Road, New Milton. Gates open at 6pm, bonfire will be lit at 7pm and fireworks start at 8pm. Tickets are £5, children under five go free.

NOVEMBER 9

• Hunters Park, Twyford. St Mary’s School’s event will start at 5pm with fireworks at 6pm. Entry is by suggested donation of £5 for adults, £2 for children and £10 for families.
