IT’S nearly the weekend! And there’s dozens of fun-filled events taking place for all the family across Hampshire.

Here’s our top 10.

(1) AT MAYFLOWER PARK...

ROLL up, roll up, the circus is coming to town.

Charles Chipperfield Circus features a whole host of daredevils from around the globe.

From Hungarian State Circus comes Weiss Junior on the Flying Trapeze and enjoy the talents of Ukrainian Duo Mumladze on the wheel of death. There's a live laser show, roller skating stars, foot juggling, hula hoop, free standing ladder and not forgetting the hilarious circus clowns Los Remache.

(2) AT EASTLEIGH LAKESIDE RAILWAY...

RAIL lovers are being invited to help celebrate a quarter of a century of trains running at Lakeside Country Park this weekend.

Day Rover tickets are now available to buy for the 25th anniversary Gala, tomorrow and Sunday.

Organisers are planning to have every available loco running at some point during the weekend.

The event will focus on the original fleet of locomotives from the 1990's including Sandy River, The Monarch, William Baker, Sir Arthur Heywood and D1994.

All of the other locomotives will run in the order in which they arrived at the railway over the course of the two days.

(3) AT HAMPTWORTH LODGE...

THE Great British Summer and public transport…travel chaos waiting to happen? Maskers Theatre Company certainly doesn’t think so!

In this year’s summer show, Around the World in 80 Days, the Victorian gentleman Phileas Fogg is so confident in trains, boats, and yes, even elephants, he is prepared to wager his life’s fortunes on circumnavigating the world in 80 Days.

Dragging his hapless French valet, Passepartout, along for the ride, they’ll leave the misty alleyways of London behind and take you on a whistle-stop tour of Europe, Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and the Wild West…all without leaving your seat.

Bring a picnic to the beautiful grounds of Hamptworth Lodge ahead of performances, which run all weekend and until Saturday July 29.

(4) AT THE ROYAL ARMOURIES, FORT NELSON...

A Messerschmitt flyover, big guns from the First and Second World Wars and draft horses will be features of Fort Nelson’s second annual Artillery on Parade event, which will return this weekend.

The 19-acre Victorian fortification makes Fort Nelson the perfect backdrop for this event. During the action packed weekend visitors will experience a flyover by a Second World War Messerschmitt. On sight of an approaching Messerschmitt, air raid sirens will echo across the parade, large searchlights will illuminate the sky, and visitors will experience the sound of anti-aircraft and machine gun fire by uniformed detachments from the Garrison Artillery Volunteers.

The rare and fully-restored Messerschmitt BF-108 Taifun was originally adapted in to Luftwaffe service during the Second World War, where it was primarily used as a personnel transport and liaison aircraft due to its extremely low fuel consumption rate, good handling, and superb take-off and landing characteristics.

The event will also include magnificent working Percheron draft horses owned and used by Hampshire farming family the Sampsons. These horses were originally bred as war horses and were used during the First World War, because of their combination of strength, intelligence and aptitude for hard work. At the event the horses will pull the 18-pounder gun to its firing point where uniformed detachments will live fore the powerful World War artillery.

As well as the live firings there will be talks, film shows, a children’s assault course, face painting, object handling sessions and displays of military vehicles throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

(5) AT MAYFLOWER THEATRE...

THEY'RE creepy and they're kooky...mysterious and spooky.

From the makers of Jersey Boys comes the brand new musical comedy The Addams Family continues its run in Southampton this weekend.

The UK and Irish premiere of the show stars former Eastenders and Guys and Dolls actress Samantha Womack as Morticia, alongside funnyman and Hairspray star Les Dennis as Uncle Fester and Carrie Hope Fletcher (Les Miserables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) as Wednesday.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and has a shocking secret that only Gomez knows; she’s fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family! Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. (6) AT HAMPSHIRE CINEMAS...

BREVITY is the soul of writer-director Christopher Nolan's harrowing wartime drama Dunkirk, which is released in cinemas today.

In his shortest feature since the acclaimed 1998 debut Following, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker crafts a stunning mosaic of personal stories of hard fought triumph and agonising defeat against the sprawling backdrop of the largest evacuation of allied forces during the Second World War.

In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.

(7) AT BEAULIEU...

TV presenter and inventor Edd China will drive two of his craziest creations around Beaulieu on Sunday to launch the special summer exhibition Wacky Record Breakers.

See the former Wheeler Dealers mechanic driving Bog Standard, a complete bathroom suite where the driver takes their place on the toilet seat while the passenger reclines in the bathtub, around the grounds.

For one day only, the exhibit will be joined by his road-legal sofa, which Edd will drive around a course on the Events Arena. Two sessions will take place during the day at 11:30am & 2:30pm.

Speed cameras will also put Beaulieu's penny farthing and veteran cars to the test with petrol-powered hilarity throughout the day.

Visit the National Motor Museum to see the rest of the Wacky Record Breakers exhibition, featuring more automotive oddities created by inventors Edd China and Colin Furze, including Gone to Speed, a garden shed capable of 58mph and Fast Asleep, a double bed that can reach the national speed limit!

Wacky Record Breakers will be on display until 31 August 2017.

(8) AT ROYAL VICTORIA COUNTRY PARK...

SPONSOR a slate and help raise the roof of Royal Victoria Chapel.

A new roof is being put onto the historic chapel in a major restoration project and you can sponsor a roof slate.

Help the Friends of Royal Victoria Country Park reach their target of 30,000 to support the Chapel restoration project this weekend.

You can write your name, s special message, draw a picture or even put your own handprint or your dog's pawprint on the slate!

Meet at the chapel sometime between 11am and 4pm tomorrow and Sunday or next weekend.

(9) AT SIR HAROLD HILLIER GARDENS...

ENJOY a spectacular evening of Classic Soul and Motown Magic.

Get onboard the soul train for a sensational tribute to the classic Soul and Tamla Motown hits featuring the exceptional ten-piece band Madison Heights.

With four vocalists and a team of great musicians, this slick band faithfully brings to life 'soulsational' timeless classics by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, James Brown, Tina Turner, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and many many more.

Gates will open at 6.15pm for you to enjoy your picnic and chat with friends before the concert gets under way at 7.30pm.

(10) IN NETLEY MARSH...

ONE of the most popular events in the south, the three day event includes a wide variety of steam engines and many crafts to choose from this weekend.

Netley Marsh Steam Fair and Craft Show gets under way today at Meadow Mead Farm in Netley Marsh.

The Netley Marsh show was first held in 1971, when it was a one day show and called The Puffin, and local steam engine owners brought along their engines to entertain the visitors.

It has been going ever since and is now a successful three day event with traction steam engines and a wide and varied range of vintage vehicles and engines on display, as well as a wide range of entertainments for all ages.

Dozens of local charities have been supported over the years.

The show runs until Sunday with camping available on site.
