AT WINCHESTER DISCOVERY CENTRE… SNAIL Tales brings another chance to enjoy stories you won't find anywhere else – because each one has been born in the minds of children.
Genies in teapots and hat-munching squirrels are just a few of the characters joining boys and girls on fantastical exploits, brought to life with puppetry, song, and more opportunities to jump on stage and join in on Sunday from 2pm.
AT BELLEMOOR COMMUNITY CENTRE, SOUTHAMPTON….
THE grand opening by the Mayor gets a funfilled day at Falklands Road under way at midday tomorrow.
Activities include refreshments, a climbing wall, a plant sale, a book sale, children’s activities and bric-a-brac.
AT KING’S SOMBORNE RECREATION GROUND… King’s Somborne and District Horticultural Society’s annual Flower Show and Fete will take place tomorrow alongside the King’s Somborne Companion Dog Show.
Entertainment includes the Lockerley Silver Band, maypole dancers, a climbing wall, obstacle course, plant stall, tombola, raffle, children’s sports, a bouncy castle and other stalls.
AT FORT NELSON, FAREHAM… TAKE a step back in time to the Victorian era and enjoy a steam-powered merry go round, donkey rides and a coconut shy.
The Victorian Fair takes place tomorrow between 10am and 5pm. AT BUCKLERS HARD… In the 2012 celebratory year of all that’s Great about Britain, Vice-Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson’s rich maritime history is being brought to life in the village where his ships for Trafalgar were built.
It’s easy to imagine the life that once thrived along the gently sloping street which leads to the stunning waterfront and a more sedate lifestyle in the 18th Century.
The passage of time has left Buckler’s Hard relatively untouched by modern life. It is the ideal backdrop for Living History characters to bring their world alive every day from today until September 2.
AT ROMSEY FOOTBALL CLUB… THE family fun day on Sunday includes a bouncy castle, children’s rides, a penalty shootout and a fundraising stalls with fun games.
Expect to see fire engines and a firefighters appliances demonstration, plus enjoy a barbecue, a bar and refreshments.
The day will boost the coffers of three charities – Naomi House children’s hospice, Wessex Cancer Trust and The Fire Fighters Charity.
If you’ve got a pretty pooch, there will also be a fun dog show with categories like the handsomest dog, waggiest tail, best junior handler and dog the judge would most like to take home.
AT GLORIOUS GOODWOOD… EVER wondered what you could buy for £100m? A super yacht, a sports car, Cristiano Ronaldo (with some change) or even your own island...
On Wednesday, Goodwood Racecourse will see the world’s most valuable and finest race horse of a generation, the unbeaten Frankel, run for the 12th time in his career in the QIPCO Sussex Stakes.
The first day of Glorious Goodwood gets under way as spectacular horseracing panamas and linen flood the racecourse on Tuesday.
Ladies Day is on Thursday and the event continues into next weekend.
