AT THE PSP Southampton Boat Show … HE HAS been world champion on four wheels.

Now Jenson Button is swapping his steering wheel for a tiller to bring some Formula One glamour to the PSP Southampton Boat Show .

The Belgian Grand Prix winner will be launching two superyachts on the opening day of the show, today.

The 2009 Formula One world champion will be joined by former team owner turned TV pundit Eddie Jordan to celebrate the global launch of Sunseeker’s Portofino 40 and Predator 80.

World-renowned interior designer Kelly Hoppen and celebrity chef Mark Sargeant will also be taking part in the show, which runs until Sunday, September 23, alongside members of Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic teams.

AT Eastleigh MARDI GRAS… IT’s party time in Eastleigh tomorrow and Sunday.

Enjoy a host of family events on the Leigh Road Recreation Ground with entertainment ranging from the Big Noise Community Samba Band to the Tribe of the Honeybadgers.

One star of the future will scoop a cash prize as the winner of Eastleigh’s Got Talent and the Mardi Gras parade will take to the streets of the town led by the queen and princess.

Also get a taste of zumba and Tae Kwon Do.

AT RINGWOOD CARNIVAL… MARCHING bands, fancy dress floats, steam vehicles and vintage cars are set to feature in the carnival procession, which sets off at 2pm on Saturday.

An evening torch light procession will also start at 7.15pm. The Bickerley will host a fair, live bands and trade stands, with a host of charity and community stalls on the village green. The day will come to a close with a fireworks display.

IN Bursledon … ONE of the UK’s oldest circuses is in town this weekend.

Hand balancing, aerial acrobats, juggling, whip cracking and funny dogs are all on the bill of a brand new show by Circus Ginnett.

It’s at Bursledon Road until Sunday.

AT Portswood RECREATION GROUND… A CLIMBING wall, crazy golf, tennis, kite making, juggling, circus skills, badge making, football activities and a raffle.

That’s all available at a fun day organised by the Friends of Portswood Rec’ tomorrow between 11am and 4pm.

AT HINKLER GREEN, THORNHILL… THORNHILL FESTIVAL is back after being postponed earlier in the summer.

The event, which attracts a big crowd, will include fairground rides, bouncy castles, a host of stalls and a prize draw.

AT ST JAMES’ PA RK, SHIRLEY… THE Tudor costume workshops Making Ends Meet by the Tudor Revels takes place tomorrow.

Participants will be turning their old clothes into Tudor outfits ready for the Michaelmas fair.
