APPARENTLY there is some kind of soccer match happening in London tomorrow.
I know this because where I work, halfway between Southampton and Portsmouth, there is a fair smattering of fans of both clubs.
Yesterday a guy stepped out of the welding bay and told a Manchester Utd supporting inspector, who strangely enough actually comes from Manchester, that his mate had rung up and said he had four tickets for the Cup Final.
The inspector, knowing a team leader was a keen Pompey fan and was desperate to get tickets for himself and his young son, immediately rang him on his mobile.
The conversation that was heard by all in the office went:
“Do you want four tickets for the Cup Final?”
There was a pause as the team leader asked a question.
The inspector replied: “At Wembley.”
