The father of a 14-year old youth faces prison and losing his home if his son, who assaulted a caretaker on their New Addington estate, repeats his misbehaviour.
An injunction which followed the incident in November expired and last week the boy and his father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, promised at Croydon County Court to continue the good behaviour.
Valid for one year, it means that
the youth will not assault, menace or otherwise use threatening behaviour
towards council staff and that his
father will ensure these conditions are adhered to.
A breach would leave both facing a possible fine for contempt of court, as well possible imprisonment in the case of the father, and action to repossess their council home.
