AS the clock continues to tick away, it’s time to start thinking about how to make the most of our remaining time on planet Earth.

According to certain believers in the Mayan calendar, the world will come to an end at the end of its 13th b’ak’tun, on December 21.

So with just 11 days to go, be prepared to give up on sleep and live what little life we have left to the full.

The longest scientifically documented period without sleep is 264 hours, a feat achieved by Randy Gardner.

With a name like that we can only hazard a guess as to what kept him awake all that time.

But what can you do to fill those 11 sleepless days?

The deepest point in any of our oceans is 11km, so why not discover what lies beneath by scuba diving, swimming with dolphins, or even sharks.
