OWTON’S traditional family butchers in partnership with Fuller’s family restaurants are holding the final of their Young Cooks competition at Eastleigh College’s Red Carpet restaurant on March 7.

The finalists will be preparing their entries for the judges with a presentation to the winner being made at 11am.

Young Cooks 2015 is a competition which is designed to give young children the ability to show off and demonstrate their cooking skills.

We are looking for creative and imaginative dishes using, where possible, UK grown produce.

The competition is open to children aged eight and under and nine to 12 years.

Each age group winner will win £75 with the associated school taking home £400.

Great prizes are up for grabs including young cook aprons and chef hats plus Fullers chefs jackets for the ‘Cook Off’ finalist.

Other prizes include lunch for a family of four worth £200 and a pudding master class.

All entrants will receive a certificate and the best children’s recipe will be promoted on Owton’s website owtons.com.
