FOOD and music come together in West Parley this Bank Holiday weekend with the three-day family Dudsbury ‘Feastival’ (August 29-31). Taking place at the Dudsbury Country Club, each day offers a different style and activities.

Saturday kicks off at 2pm with music from Dubheart, Bafaana, and DJ’s nto the night until 2am. Sunday sees a soul food barbecue and a live appearance from dreadlocked Soul II Soul frontman man Jazzie B, who is renowned for shaping the British club and soul music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990.

The group’s seminal album Club Classics Vol. One went triple platinum in the UK and double platinum in America winning them two Grammys. Speaking about his return to Bournemouth, Jazzie B said told the Daily Echo: “It’s always been good for me over that way,It feels a bit like a homecoming. Bournemouth can expect a happy face, a thumping bass for a loving race and a lot of good music.”

Also on the bill for Bank Holiday Sunday is Rowetta from the legendary Manchester band the Happy Mondays, and a line-up of top DJ’s.

Monday will sees a lavish production to celebrate the music of Frank Sinatra and boasts the talents of tribute act David Alacey, and guest appearances from Anita Harris and Kenny Lynch.
