NEARLY 200 different beers and cider brands will feature at Hampshire OctoberFest 2015.

The popular three-day event is the largest showcase of beer and cider in the south east of England and is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.

It will run from October 9 to 12 at Basingstoke Cricket and Sports Ground in Fairfields Road and will feature more than 180 different beer and cider brands, - which is up from 120 that at last year's OctoberFest.

Sports fans will get a chance to keep up with Rugby World Cup matches which will be streamed live at the venue in the Upham Tent.

Meanwhile music fans will also be entertained at the Festival Tent, which will have punk, rock, ska and blues bands playing.

The event will raise funds for the Wessex Heritage Trust, a self-funding charitable organisation which assists heritage sites and cultural facilities across the region.

Director of The Wessex Heritage Trust, who organise the event, Ian Smith, said: “We’re really excited to showcase the 183 different beers and ciders at this year’s event.

“Whether you’re a beer and cider aficionado or an occasional drinker, OctoberFest 2015 promises to entice. “
