LANDLORD Glenn Taylor is hoping hIs customers will boost funds for children receiving treatment in two hospitals by hosting a musical extravaganza at his pub.

The ten-hour gig at The Brooklands Tap in Sale's Hope Road is on Saturday, July 27, and is called "Tapped Up".

But the £20 tickets are already being snapped up by rock fans since the they went on sale on May 1.

And not surprisingly for included in the star-studded line-up of bands are Hats off to Led Zep and Coldplayer.

Also appearing will be Cheap Cuts, Guns or Roses, AB/BC, The Total Stone Roses, the Hangovers and the Frequency.

Customers will be invited to donate cash for Blackpool's Baby Special Care Unit and the Manchester Royal Children's Hospital.

"My customers have never let me down in the past," said father-of-one Glenn, who with his attractive wife, Lai, has already raised thousands of pounds for charities in the north west.

"And I'm sure they won't let me down this time because they know it is for such a worthy cause - children, who are in a place where they and their parents would not want them to be."

Lai, who is 33, said: "It's so easy to forget about children who are in hospital - unless, of course, the child happens to be yours.

"Glenn and I want to highlight this problem to help these unfortunate children and we are confident we will raise several hundred pounds for each of the hospitals with the help of our loyal, generous regulars and others who come along to the gig."

Donations for the hospitals will be collected in buckets by Glenn and Lai and other members of staff during the 10-hour gig.

Food, added Lai, will be available throughout the day and there will also be outside bars during the musical extravaganza.

"It will be a magical ten hours for everyone," said 39-yeard-old Glenn. "I can promise you that!"
