BEWDLEY Rowing Club’s Pub and Club Regatta maintained its position as Britain’s biggest event for non-rowers as hundreds took part at the weekend.
Sixty-seven teams of men, women and mixed crews took to the water and raced, with debutant boats joining in the fun along with regatta regulars.
Teams came in fancy dress on a hot and sunny Saturday and competed in front of a large crowd which lined-up along the River Severn.
A crew calling themselves the Misfits clinched the mixed race, while the Oarsome Foursome won the ladies and the men’s category was taken by a boat using the name Four Stroke.
Among the pubs and local businesses which took park were the Cock and Magpie, the Woodcolliers Arms and a number of teams from the Mug House.
OGL Computer and Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club also had crews taking part.
