A taste of Africa proved a huge success at a Hampshire festival.
A stall selling Kenyan coffee, tea and food was a hit at the multi-cultural event.
Members of the group Kenyans in Hampshire staffed the stand at the festival to celebrate Phillipines Independence Day and Africa Day to raise much needed funds for charity.
The event was held at the Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley.
It was organised jointly by two Hampshire organisations – the Fareham & Gosport Multicultural and Anglo-Filipino Societies.
Hundreds attended the festival which featured stalls selling international cuisine and crafts.
There was also traditional dancing displays, and entertainment and music.
Another attractions included children’s craft workshops.
The Kenyans raised more than £400 for the Just Be A Child charity.
The charity works on education and development for children throughout Kenya.
It aims to provide playgrounds, libraries and trips for children in Kenya, as well as a youth centre.
Group member Carl Garrod said: “All food and ingredients were donated and cooked by our Kenyans In Hampshire group.
“Without any deductions made so we have been able to transfer the full £443 to the charity, which we think is a good result!”
